My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Misty is an enchanting tortoiseshell beauty who entered our lives in May 2023, a rescue alongside her four siblings. Born to a feral mom, they were under careful observation and introduced to human interaction as soon as their tiny paws could explore. At five weeks old, they found sanctuary in foster care, where they all began to blossom.

Misty's charming personality quickly unfolded as she showered her foster family with love and affection. With a coat as intricate as her character, Misty is a vision of feline grace. She finds solace in snug spaces, whether it's the cubby of a cat tree or a cozy nook beneath blankets for a peaceful snooze.

Her sweetness extended beyond her foster home into our shelter, where Misty is recognized for her gentle demeanor. But, like any young cat, Misty has a playful side that adds a dash of liveliness to her character. You might catch her engaged in spirited wrestling matches with her feline friends in our community room or zooming around in bursts of playful energy.

Misty's love for comfort and her playful antics are complemented by a bit of a foodie streak. Be warned: leaving your favorite snacks unattended might result in some curious exploration on Misty's part.

With her delightful mix of affection and playfulness, Misty is ready to bring joy and warmth to a forever home. If you're seeking a companion who embodies both sweetness and liveliness, Misty might just be the perfect addition to your family.

It’s worth mentioning that Misty has been with her sibling, Pepper, since birth. If you’re looking for a pair, they are purr-fect together.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

We have an adoption questionnaire to fill out prior to being approved, and a personal interview with an adoption counselor is required; at our discretion, a home visit may be required. Adopters agree to keep cat(s) indoors only and to not declaw.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
