My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepper is a beautiful dilute calico whose journey began in May 2023 alongside her four siblings. Born to a feral mom, they were carefully observed and introduced to human interaction from the moment their tiny paws could explore. At five weeks old, they found refuge in foster care, a place where they all began to flourish.

Pepper's enchanting personality unfolded swiftly, and she became known for showering her foster family with love and affection. With a coat as soft and intricate as her character, Pepper is a vision of feline elegance.

Her love for human connection is evident in her desire for snuggling up in laps, relishing in the warmth of pets and the joy of shared naps. Pepper's gentle spirit makes her an ideal companion for those moments of quiet bonding.

However, Pepper is not just a calm and loving presence; she also possesses a playful spirit that adds a delightful spark to the room. Whether it's chasing after toys or engaging in spirited wrestling matches with her fellow feline companions, Pepper is always up for some fun.

With a perfect balance of affection and playfulness, Pepper is ready to bring joy and warmth to a home. If you're seeking a companion who embodies both serenity and liveliness, Pepper might just be the perfect addition to your family.

It’s worth mentioning that Misty has been with her sibling, Pepper, since birth. If you’re looking for a pair, they are purr-fect together.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

We have an adoption questionnaire to fill out prior to being approved, and a personal interview with an adoption counselor is required; at our discretion, a home visit may be required. Adopters agree to keep cat(s) indoors only and to not declaw.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
