“Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love." Godiva's family will have so much love from this adorable dog!
Precious Godiva is two years old and weighs 40 pounds. She is so beautiful with her chocolate colored coat and merry brown eyes. She is such a gentle, good natured soul and is truly our shelter sweetheart! Godiva is a great choice if you want to adopt a medium sized dog.
Godiva is an active, enthusiastic partner on daily walks. She truly enjoys your company and is such a charming companion! Godiva will go for as long as you want, and will be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Godiva is so interested in her surroundings. She recently loved watching a groups of birds flying overhead.
Outings in the fenced yard are one of her favorite things, and she loves to run and play. She bounds about in total joy and is so agile. Godiva would probably excel in an agility class.
One of our volunteers reports: "I love spending time with Godiva in the fenced yard. She zooms around and has so much fun, and then is ready to be your cuddle buddy. She is so sweet!"
Godiva is a rock star as she participates in play dates with her fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.
Godiva loves attention and affection and adores being petted and having quality cuddle time. She gives the best doggy kisses, too! Godiva absolutely loves being around people and has done so well with the children of our volunteers. One of her favorite things to do is rest her head on your shoulder when you sit with her.
Godiva had a great outing with one of our volunteers who reports: "Hiked 6 miles with Godiva today! She would have gone another 6 miles if I let her. Godiva pulls hard but was manageable on the trails for me. We met A LOT of dogs and she was friendly with all of them. Godiva also met a puppy and they sniffed each other and she gave him kisses."
Lucky Godiva spent the weekend with one of our dedicated volunteers and Tiffany relates: "After the adoption event yesterday, we took Godiva home for the evening. While at the event, she was very calm, relaxed and just enjoyed time in the grass and people loving all over her. Especially kids!!! And playing with bugs might be her favorite hobby.
Godiva had no accidents in the house while I’ve had her. She slept in a crate last night and did not make a peep.
Godiva seemed indifferent to my cat. Hector is pretty dog savvy so he does not run if she were to engage. I don’t know that I would label her cat friendly, but that with proper introductions, she would likely do okay."
Godiva will be a wonderful dog to be at your side during the day and curl up at your feet at night. Godiva has so much love to give the family lucky enough to take her home! She is the perfect combination of active and chill!
