Iowa is a super handsome, energetic, and spry middle- ager who would love to have life of adventure with you. Maybe a road trip to the Hawkeye State so he can rediscover his roots? Just kidding, we don’t think Iowa has ever been to Iowa or feels a compelling need to go. He does feel a compelling need to find a family of his own though! And here’s a fun fact- the state of Iowa produces a whole 10% of the United States food supply, while our Iowa would like to do the opposite and take 10% of your food supply right off your plate at every meal!! Sharing is caring, or so he says!
Here`s what volunteers have said about him:
“Iowa is a polite cutie and a good walker who doesn’t pull on leash. He is attentive the whole time and looks back to me often. He knows sit and watch me. He was very interested in sniffing and responded to my `leave it`. Those perky ears are definitely listening!”
“We took Iowa and his kennelmate to a play yard. Once there they played together, took treats gently, and accepted petting. Iowa is very energetic and active.”
“I love Iowa- I first met him when he was new to the shelter and would not even walk on leash. Bit by bit, we got to play yard and he immediately opened up and showed his playful, sweet demeanor. Nowadays he’s used to that leash thing and is always happy to get out of his kennel for fresh air and exercise. I’d love to see this deserving boy find a home soon!”
Iowa is very friendly, very sweet and very ready to leave the shelter today! He has been playful, social, and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Iowa today!!
