My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brick Tamland, like his namesake, is a simple man. He likes his food delivered on time, his
cardboard and paper to chew, and to be left alone when it’s time to nap. Brick is a very laid-back and easygoing guy, so he’s perfect for an adopter that wants a quiet companion that does his own thing.
His recent foster reports: “Brick enjoys running/hopping around and lounging on the rug when he is outside of the pen. He is very curious and loves exploring and investigating new things. I have set up barriers to limit where he can go, and 4 times he broke through. Now, I have more robust barriers set up, and he hasn't figured out yet how to get past them. Otherwise, he is a bundle of energy and is happiest when he has freedom to roam around. I can safely leave him in the restricted area for a few hours on weekends while I am out and about running errands.
If he hears the rustling of any plastic bag, treat or not, he gets excited and will climb all over me. Watching him eat and play brings a smile to my face. He also enjoys being pet occasionally, but he absolutely dislikes being carried.”
In the few hours he’s awake, Brick absolutely loves to chew. It’s important that his space is not only quiet and comfortable for his many naps, but also well bunny-proofed.
Looking for a cool boy with no chill? Brick Tamland might just be your man.

Brick Tamland is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

More about this rescue

Since 1988, House Rabbit Society, its supporters, small staff, local chapters, licensed educators, and other volunteers around the globe have been advocating for the care and well-being of rabbits.

Our goal is to help people see rabbits as intelligent and social pets who thrive indoors. HRS’ mission, philosophy, and policies have influenced the formation of many other nonprofit rabbit rescue groups and set a standard for the treatment and respect of domesticated rabbits. As a nonprofit, we rely on membership support and other donations–large and small. HRS financial documents are provided below, which record our programmatic efforts over the past decade.
