My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rosemary (Rosie)!

At just 2.5 years old, she's got her entire life ahead of her to be your bestie! So what's Rosie's story and how did she wind up here!?

Back in October 2023, she was surrendered to the shelter by her previous family because she was pregnant and they couldn't care for her. She gave birth to 10 healthy puppies in our rescue's care who have all found homes, and now it's mamas turn! Rosemary was heartworm positive when she entered our rescue, however she has now completed her injections and is feeling totally healed and healthy!

This sweet girl is easy-going, has wonderful house manners, is potty trained and crate trained! On top her fantastic indoor manners, her leash manners and willingness to please make her an excellent walking companion. She generally doesn't react when seeing other dogs and people, and doesn't seem phased by walking near loud noises, crowds, kids, bikes etc. Sometimes other dogs that bark at her make more interested but it's quite managable and she's easily redirected. She and her foster mom have been seeing a trainer to work on basic skills like leash walking, place command and building pack mentality. She's a quick learner and is doing EXCELLENT! Our rescue is even willing to pay for a few follow up sessions with her future family if they would like.

Rosie LOVES toys and bones. She is never a bother in the house because she can settle down easily on her own and busy herself all day long in addition to loving to cuddle up on the couch and be with her people. She's such an easy, quiet girl! Rosemary is a people person through and through-she adores human company and is sure to bring joy and warmth to her future adopters.

We are suggesting that Rosemary go to a home with no other pets due to a few instances of conflict in her foster home with the resident dog. It's a tricky situation because she LOVES her foster brother, and after integrating slowly with him, would cuddle up on the couch, go for walks and play with him. After a few unpredictable conflicts, we decided it was best to separate them for safety reasons, but she peacefully coexists with him through a baby gate with absolutely no issues! She has gone on parallel walks with other dogs and has been very neutral, so we think she may do best with doggy friends from a distance, but could be integrated with dogs in the future if she is muzzled for safety! She's a silly playful girl and wants to have doggy friends, just needs slow structured intros in a safe way.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to this delightful gal, Rosemary is eager to become a cherished member of your family. She brings love, loyalty, and a wagging tail-everything you could wish for in a canine companion. Don't miss the chance to make Rosemary a part of your forever home!
