Meet Fruitcake! She's a sweet tuxedo kitten who's still finding her confidence in the world. She is Elf's sister, and while their other brothers and sisters have embarked on their new adventures in loving homes, they're still seeking their own special place.

Fruitcake would be fine as a solo kitty, but she loves her best buddy Stone... it would be AMAZING if they could go to a home together!!

Initially reserved, Fruitcake prefers the safety of quiet corners where she can observe the world. She's come a long way since her arrival here, slowly but surely learning to trust staff, volunteers, and potential adopters. With patience and understanding, she's beginning to show glimpses of her true, loving nature.

If you're willing to open your heart to a shy yet loving soul, Fruitcake is the one for you! She's been microchipped, spayed, is up to date on vaccines, and is FIV/FELV negative. Please come meet her at our Cove location!

An adoption counselor will call you to discuss adoption and set up a meeting at an event, adoption center, or with that pet's foster parent.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
