My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franchesca is big on personality and totally enjoys the company of people, including strangers. She is a super friendly cat and often follows staff and visitors around wanting attention. She also enjoys petting, but only for short durations. Franchesca has sensitive skin and the pleasure she receives from petting only lasts a brief time and then she needs a break. She needs someone willing to spend a little extra time with her to learn when petting becomes uncomfortable for her. And, although Franchesca lives in a house with other cats, she would much prefer to be the queen in her castle and live with no other animals.

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
