My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi fwends! My name is Brownie. It fits me because I am brown, but my foster mama says it's also because I am the sweetest!

I'm a cute little nibble of dessert. When my foster mama found me, I was wagging my tail and happy to see her, but I was also a little shy. Now that I know her, I love to play and I also love to cuddle up with her. It didn't take me long to love her; I know it won't take me long to love you too! I keep a cuddle thunder wrap on because it's cold out and it makes me feel secure, like a big hug. I just need some patience and reassurance to be your best little Brownie Bite.

Speaking of desserts... I love snacks! I'm learning how to sit for them. I'm used to be a little scared about going in to my crate, but I got treatsies for this too and now my favorite time to climb in there and rest is the end of the day. I sleep all night and am excited to go outside when my Mom opens the crate door in the morning. Sometimes I stay inside of it during the day, too. I am still learning these things called a harness and a leash.

I like doggo friends and kiddo friends. I haven't met any cats yet, so no comment there.

I can't wait to meet you! Call or text my adoption coordination Deb at 928-853-1046 to set up a date. I have had my age-appropriate shots, a rabies vaccine, been neutered and just had a 30-day flea and tick preventive.

Love, Brownie

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an adoption application, located on our web site here: http://tubacityhumanesociety.org/adoptions/ . There is more information about our adoption process, including our adoption fees, on that page. In general, fill out an adoption application, and then photo or scan it to our email at tubacityhumane@gmail.com, and that enables us to start a conversation with you. From there, the foster would usually set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. We like all family members to meet the animal, and any other pets as well. We do require a home check. Adoption fees do not cover our veterinary cost, but do help us to continue our work. All animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Most animals are also microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can usually be made to meet most of our adoptable animals in Flagstaff. The process starts by filling out an application and returning it to to us through email. Some animals are fostered in Tuba City or other locations. We do attend some adoption events in Flagstaff.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue/foster group located in Tuba City, AZ, on the western Navajo Nation. We do not have a facility. We have two main programs: rescue of homeless animals in need, and a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public. We rely on donations to continue our work.
