Here's what the humans have to say about me:
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
Welcome, Grover!
You may be thinking that this guy looks familiar. Or you may know him as "Ice Age" and you would be right! After spending three months at the local shelter without an adopter, this guy has joined AugustaDog Adoptions to find a new idenity, a new audience, and a new forEVER home! A new name is a great way to start over so say hello to Grover!
Grover is a 2.5 year old English Coonhound mix who weighs 68 pounds. Grover was scared at the shelter. He didn't thrive there and no one adopted him. He's alive because we have a good shelter. He could have been euthanized months ago. Actually, it's a shelter staff who took him home to foster thus giving him the gift of a new beginning.
Since moving to his foster home, Grover's personality has began to shine! He is crate trained, house trained and GREAT with other dogs. He plays well and in a way that is not overwhelming. Grover loves people and has even been kind and gentle with the kids he has met. Grover is an amazing boy who is going to be a great addition to some lucky family! (Like the majority of our hounds, we are looking for a cat free home for Grover.)
Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
