My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Woody!

Woody came to us from West Valley Shelter-LA on November 29th. He is 8 years old, and although he weighs 124 lbs., he is the gentlest of giants. Since January, Woody has been living in a Foster home alongside a chihuahua and two cats, and according to his Foster Mom, he has been "amazing with them since the beginning.

Here her full report on what life with Woody is like:

"Woody is such a funny, sweet, goofy, and good dog! He has been great with all people he's met. He has only had brief interactions with kids in the neighborhood, but he has been totally accepting of little hands petting his face.

Woody isn't overly affectionate with us. He doesn't lick us and seems indifferent to being pet. However, he shows he loves us in other ways! When we get home from work or when he first sees us in the morning, his tail wags and he goes for his toys. He also follows us from room to room all day.

Woody lives with our chihuahua and two cats, and he has been amazing with them from the beginning. He naps much of the day, but he gets a burst of energy a couple times a day! During his high energy times, Woody loves to play with toys and fetch his ball. He enjoys short walks and he walks very slow (except for when he needs to potty, then he speed walks until he finds the perfect spot!)

Woody has a seizure disorder, and thankfully, his seizures are currently well controlled by medications which he takes twice a day. He loooves taking meds because that means treats! He takes them happily in lunch meat, wet food, or cream cheese. Thank goodness for all the support Frosted Faces provides for their dogs!

As a result of these medications , Woody is pretty clumsy and uncoordinated, and he bumps into things. We have stairs, and he can manage them for now. However, I do think a single story home might be best for Woody long term, unless his family could one day carry a 124 lb. dog up the stairs!

Woody loves baking in the sunlight! If it's sunny outside, he will sometimes cry at the door for us to let him out onto the porch to sunbathe. He would love a spot to do this in his forever home.

Woody has so many funny quirks that his family will fall in love with, and I hope they find him soon. I love to tell him he is a total sweetheart, because he is!"
