My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mateo is the perfect pitty boy. He's people and dog friendly, knows his commands, is housebroken, crate trained, and good on a leash. He has never shown any aggressive behaviors, and he's very good with sharing toys, food, and hanging out with both people and other dogs. Some of Mateo's favorite extracurriculars include playing, running, and working on training. He loves his toys, and his favorite game is picking up anything and bringing it to you. He also loves to chew on his toys pretty rough so toys like a Kong are the best for him! Mateo is a big foodie, and he especially enjoys waiting on extra treats from his little human friends. He loves other dogs and gets along with all sizes, and when he meets a furry friend, all he wants to do is play. He is safe to be around children of all ages from baby to teenager, but he is a strong boy and sometimes he does not know his strength. Mateo is not too much of a jumper when meeting people, but when kids are running around, he does get very excited and wants to participate in the fun. He gets the zummies at times especially when kids are playing with him. Mateo saw his first snowfall, and he was a little bit afraid. This Southern boy (he came from Georgia) definitely did not enjoy the cold on his toes. He's not a barker and is a very quiet boy. He would best fit in an active family household where he can get lots of walks and go on fun adventures. We can't wait to find this beautiful honey brown eyed boy his perfect fit!

More about this rescue

Dog is my Shepherd Rescue & Rehab is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue located in Illinois devoted to saving, training, and rehabbing dogs locally and nation-wide from the shelters to the streets. We rescue all breeds, all ages, all sizes, and all personalities. We don't discriminate, from pitbulls to puppies, and everything in between, we rescue them all. We are run by two dog loving gals that want to make a positive pawprint with both short term and long term goals. We know we cannot save them all, but we can save many, and it's our mission to make sure they get their happily ever after.
