Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Red needs to find a new home without small children. His owners adopted him about 3 years ago from the Ross County pound and up until recently, he's been a great dog. However, the family has grown since Red's arrival and they now have toddlers, plus Mom babysits for a couple of other small children. Red is not doing well with all the little ones running around in the house and has snapped at them. The owners are afraid that one of these days he might accidentally bite one of the children so they are looking for a new home.
As with most Chow Chow's or even mixes, they do require an experienced owner. Chow's like a much more quiet environment and usually don't do well with small children. Older, more settled kids don't seem to present much of a problem for this breed. They just don't tolerate a lot of commotion going on in the home.
The owners have agreed to keep this handsome boy until another permanent home can be found. They will be bringing him to the Mingle with Our Mutts event so he can, hopefully, meet his new family.
Red is current on all vaccinations and is neutered. His owners say that he is fully house trained, has never had to be created .. so he is trustworthy to be left alone during the day.
Although Red is 5 years old, he still has a lot of life ahead of him and plenty of love to give his new family.
