My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pollux is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!

Pollux has comes a long way from the skinny scared kid we met at Chicago Animal Care and Control, and that is thanks to his amazing foster mom and her pack of dogs who have helped him blossom!

His foster mom writes, "Pollux quickly attaches himself to you. He loves 2-5 mile hikes and likes to jog 2-4 miles. He isn't into fetch but loves his rope toy, Nylabones, frozen PB on frisbees and marrow bone. He is great with other dogs of all sizes. He takes correction from my other dogs well and does not fight over food/treats when other dogs even small ones are nearby.

He is great boy who knows basic obedience and is looking for loving owner(s). Pollux is crated up to 9 hours during my longer workdays, and crated at night. He barks for a few minutes at first but then settles in with his frozen peanut butter treat. He loves to play and also knows when it is time to just chill!"

If you are looking for a hiking buddy to enjoy the warmer days ahead with, but maybe you also have a job where you work full time out of the home, Pollux may be the perfect dog for you! He could really fit in anywhere.

Pollux's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
