My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Sable is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 10 months

Sable was just a baby when she came to us from a home with too many bunnies. Sable had not been socialized well and was a bit nervous and skittish. While Sable still appreciates a human who can read and respect her bunny body language, she has come so far since then! Sable is the queen of bunny kisses! She loves to nuzzle your foot or lick your arm to show her affection. She's even shown signs of being a lap bunny! And once you make friends with her, watch out for her "tooth purr". Sable loves being petted and will definitely let you know with her purrs. Although Sable enjoys her bunny zoomies as much as the next rabbit, she's always happy to settle down for some gentle pets at the end. Like any rabbit, Sable will appreciate a spacious pen, with free roam time each day, and lots of fresh hay, green veggies, and chew toys. Sable has lived with rabbits in the past, and may appreciate a bunny friend, but her social needs can also be met through spending time with her people. Come meet our sweet lady today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
