Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Prince von Pressig is a stunning, 11-12 month-old German Shepherd. Are you looking for the sweetest goofball to be your family’s Prince Charming? We have the perfect dog for you! This bouncing boy starts his day off excitedly and ready to explore his surroundings. At playtime he is a total goofball and loves to greet dogs. His energy may be too much for shy dogs, but he eventually settles down and hangs out with his pals. We can tell that this pup would love an active family. He would do well as the only dog to get all the attention or with equally playful dogs who won't mind his happy-go-lucky energy. Around people Prince absolutely melts in your arms and will shower you with kisses in exchange for ear scratches. He is very loving and eager to please and will start learning all kinds of tricks for tasty treats. Prince will be so excited to meet you!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
