Roxy von Radeburg is a stunning, 3-year-old German Shepherd. This adorable girl with the classic coat and slanty ear is a cuddle bug. Roxy is certified AGK - Always Giving Kisses. She lives for affection. She lies down for belly rubs and stands as close as possible for ear and chest scratches. When not melting in your arms, Roxy enjoys walks and exploring. She has a medium energy level and walks well on leash, starting off happy and calm. She stays close, walking well with other dogs and meeting them well on leash. In playgroups Roxy mingles with a friendly crowd. She feels comfortable enough to lie down and keep an eye on the action. Afterwards she eagerly walks out with you, accepting praise and love for being a good girl. Roxy is ready to impress her future family, not only with her charms but also her skills. Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
