My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Estimated birth date: 7/1/23

Personality: Brave, Curious, Energetic, Friendly toward humans, Hesitant, Inquisitive, Nervous, Quiet, Sweet

Favorite treats: dried apple slices, dried cranberries

Current Diet: 50/50 Mix Essentials Hamster & Gerbil Food and Mazuri Rat & Mouse Diet

Favorite toys and activities: Running on her wheel

Potty trained: No

This animal’s daily routine: Lou is sleepy during the day, but happy to take treats whenever you say hi. Outside of cage playtime is in the evening when she's more awake. She runs on her wheel all night, so a silent spinner style wheel is a must if she is going to share a room with anyone!

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): No, this animal prefers to live alone.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Seen cats through cage - indifferent

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? None

Health concerns: None.

Behavioral concerns: Lou was very shy when she first arrived at her foster home, but she very quickly come out of her shell and warmed up to interactions with humans! She will come up to people willingly to investigate or explore. She is hesitant to come out of her cage but is comfortable being held in human hands or being pet once she is out and given room to explore. For this, we had placed her in our trust training program to become comfortable with people, and she has since GRADUATED! Learn more about our trust training program at https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/trust-training

Other notes: She is an adult Syrian hamster and needs plenty of space to run and explore. Lou is an adorable, curious hamster who loves to run around and explore new things! Her personality is sure to give you a chuckle, and you'll feel the joy each time she comes up to you to say hi.

Louboutin came to MNPPR as the mother of an unplanned litter.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Roseville PetSmart - 2480 Fairview Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Fee: Louboutin has an adoption fee of $15

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.

Louboutin is a Syrian Hamster.

Louboutin's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored. If you would like to donate to provide veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment for Louboutin or other pocket pets in the care of MNPPR, please visit https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/sponsor-a-pocket-pet for more information.

More about this rescue

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
