My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cookie (aka Oreo Cookie) is a quirky and silly pup that is guaranteed to brighten your day. She just loves to snuggle up to you and spread her warmth and joy.

She is always up for a good romp and playtime with kids who can keep up with her energy level. Whether it's chasing balls or exploring the outdoors, she will keep you entertained and active. She loves all kinds of toys.

In addition to her playful spirit, this sweet girl has a heart full of love for her human companions, showering them with affectionate and slobbery snuggles. There will never be a dull moment with this delightful bundle of joy by your side. Plus, she can pull out the big, ole puppy dog eyes that you won't be able to resist!

If you're looking for a four-legged companion who will fill your days with laughter, love and endless entertainment, look no further than than Oreo Cookie! Adopt this love ball today and let the adventures begin.

Cookie wants a fenced (4ft+) yard in her new home; she loves being outside. She uses a doggie door at her forster mom's house and loves being able to go in and out. She is learning to walk nicelfy on a leash with positive reinforcement training and patience. Cookie will sit on command and knows to sit nice in order to be fed.

She is friendly with new people and friends that have come around. She also loves car rides and going places. So if you want a road trip companion, she would be a great choice. We think she would be fine as an only dog. If you have another pup, they have to be ready to handle her rough style of play. Remember slow introductions with new family members is best she may need a home with older children as she has a lot of happy, playful energy and she may accidently knock over kids.

DOB (02/13/2021) As part of Cookie's $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Cookie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home. http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. An adoption fee of $275 for dogs under 6 months $250 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
