My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rock loves everyone he meets and vica versa!  He doesn't know what the word stranger means and gives love to everyone. He is a smoosh-burger of love and kisses.  Rock is such a good boy and is very sweet. Rock goes to work with his foster dad sometimes, and is a very good little supervisor. He ensures all of the pavers are layed properly...ha ha! Plus, he provides such positivity all the employees love him too!

Rock is a real snuggle buddy and is looking for someone who he can share all of his affection with! He is not that big and will be happy to crawl up in your lap or lay right next to you. Rock's foster says, if he had a kangroo pouch, Rock would jump right insdie.

Rock would love a home with a solid wood fence so he can enjoy the outdoors. A fence isn't a requirement for Rock-o so if you are in a condo, townhome or apartment, he could be a good option as long as you get him out a few times a day for walks. He hasn't quite perfected leash walking and it is something his foster dad is working with him on so he won't pull too much. He is a smart boy and will likely pick this up with consistency, positive reinforcement training and patience.

This wonderful boy is house and crate trained. Rock will go in his crate to sleep but is very happy to sleep in the bed with you and keep you warm. Rock isn't going to pass an opportunity to get a lot of affection, pets, belly rubs.

Rock hasn't had a lot of opportunities to meet other dogs yet, but the ones he has meet he has done well. He also hasn't meet little kids or cat at this time. Since he is new to our rescue, we will update as we know more. If you think this little hunk could be your next bestie, then Rock says, fill out that application today!

(DOB 12/22/2020). As part of Rock’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-
appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Rock, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home. http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. An adoption fee of $275 for dogs under 6 months $250 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
