Chico is a 13 year old gentle soul who we rescued from Baldwin Park Shelter on January 30th. Although a bigger boy at 57.5 lbs, Chico is a sweet and mellow gentleman who thrives on affection and enjoys the company of other dogs.
During a two-week Frosted Fling, Chico flourished in the comforts of a home environment, earning praise from his foster family for his gentle demeanor and gratitude. With proper care and attention, he has undergone a remarkable transformation, showing immense appreciation for the love and care he receives.
Chico's foster mom shares insights into his personality and progress:
* Despite his initial reluctance to eat, Chico's appetite has grown significantly with improved pain management.
* He now relishes slow strolls and short hikes, savoring every moment outdoors.
* Surprisingly, Chico, who seemed destined for outdoor living, demonstrates impeccable house manners and never has accidents indoors.
* He is well-behaved, quiet, and gets along with dogs of all sizes and children.
* Chico takes treats gently, prefers a cozy bolster bed, and is cooperative during grooming sessions.
* He sleeps soundly through the night and shows no signs of separation anxiety.
* Chico requires assistance with getting into a car and navigating stairs.
Chico's foster family grew attached to him and hopes to find him a forever home where he will be cherished and pampered. They envision a family who will embrace Chico's newfound love for leisurely strolls, indulge him with tasty treats, and shower him with affection.
Chico is ready to embark on his next chapter with a loving family who will provide him with the care and attention he deserves for the rest of his life.
Come meet Chico at Open House this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 and 1:00!
