My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Raven.

This shiny black beauty is about one year old and weighs 66 pounds.

Her foster mom tells us:

Raven is a very sweet, kind, and usually calm young girl who just wants to snuggle and be your friend.

She does great with other dogs. She’s always looking for new friends to play with. We don't know how she is with cats. She is medium energy and will jump around and play sometimes, but she is also very happy being a couch potato.

She stays in the crate when we are gone. Once I get the treat, she runs into the crate and waits patiently. She is used to sleeping in a puppy pen attached to her crate at night and sometimes sleeps on the tile and sometimes in the kennel.

She is sweet when she meets new people. She does great with our children (15 and 11) and other dogs. We suspect someone was mean to her in the past; if you raise your voice or she thinks you’re going to hit her
(example: swinging a baseball bat) she will run and cower.

Raven has pretty good recall. She wants to be with you, so likes to come.

She loves to run after the ball. However, she only brings it back when she feels like it.

Her favorite activities are: Playing (wrestling) with other dogs, snuggling with people, chasing birds or
butterflies

When she’s excited, Raven will sometimes pull on the leash. She needs more leash work. She knows the "sit" command.

Her cutest behavior is Snuggling and hugging.

She’s very tall and thinks that the counters are an additional food source. (The Lab in her!) She also likes peeling the bark off our cedar trees, and she LOVES to chew up sticks and leave bark everywhere.

But wait, Raven also wanted to contribute to her bio! Here's what she tapped out for you to read:

Hi! My name is Raven, and I’m about 65 lbs of wriggly, wiggly cuddles.

I’m only a year old, a black Lab mix with adorable tiny white tips on my toes and a bushy black tail that curls all the way back to my back.

Even though I’m only a year old, I went through a lot before coming to Lucky Lab. My previous owner wasn’t so great. I lived outside and was not housebroken, was very underweight, and I get scared when people yell or act like they might hit me.

However, my life turned around when Lucky Lab found me, and I’ve had a great time in my foster home. I am now ready to find my furever home!

Since I’ve been living with my foster family, we’ve gone to do lots of fun things. I used to be scared to
get in the car, but after lots of weekend camping trips, now I love to hop in the car and go places! I usually just lay down and sleep so that I’m well-rested for whatever adventures come up.

I love exploring new places with my foster dog, siblings, or foster family. My two human brothers are 11 and
15, and they’re just like me… they have no personal space! I love it, because I love getting snuggles and
hugs. The best part of my day is playing with the boys, with my foster dog sisters, or snuggling on the
couch or bed with my family.

If you let me sleep in the bed with you, I will snuggle up to your side. However, when it’s time for my foster parents to leave for work, I run into the kennel all on my own…for a treat, of course!

At my foster house, there are three other girl dogs, and I get along with all of them. I love to play and wrestle
with my dog siblings, especially tug of war with the toys!

The first night I was at my foster’s house, I was a little protective of my food from the other dogs. Ever since I got that first night’s sleep, though, I don’t mind sharing my food and treats with the other dogs.

At my foster home, I’ve learned how to sit, am almost completely potty trained (I might have had a little accident when it was really, really cold outside), and am working on my leash manners. My foster mom says that since I’m so eager to please, I’m fun and easy to work with.

So, what do you think? I’m a pretty simple girl who’s looking for the perfect match!

Raven is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please apply at http://www.LuckyLabRescue.com
