My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopter wanted! Who wants a beautiful shepherd mix? Fence required! Please read entire description. Hayden's adoption fee is $150. Complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.

Hayden is 3 years old and weighs in at about 65 pounds. He is currently loved very much and they even acquired a trainer, but the environment is just not ideal to continue forever. Hayden has a prey drive and should not be around cats or other little critters like chickens. We feel an only pet home for him would be ideal. He also tends to prefer women over men, but will warm up quickly. He is decent on leash and knows several commands. He is gentle with treats and overall has a sparkly, friendly personality. He would make a great adventure dog! (Although he does get a bit car sick; Dramamine can help!)

Hayden is trustworthy to be left contained in a room when alone with no issues. He does not prefer to be crated and crating is not recommended for him due to past issues he has successfully worked though. He is house trained, but needs to go out about every 7 hours or so. He tends to drink a lot of water. We would love to see Hayden in a yard that is physically fenced. Hayden has been around older children and has done well.

Hayden will move to his new home with a lot of his belongings including his harness and some of his puzzle feeder toys. He will even come along with a paid training session with his previous trainer if you are local! Hayden is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If interested in Hayden, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150. One application works for all of our dogs.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application on our website. Once we have reviewed the applications, we will contact the potential adopters to arrange a meet and greet. This can take several days depending on the popularity of the animal.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.
