My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whose heart is this girl going to steal? Please read entire description. Molly's adoption fee is $150. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.

Meet Molly! This nearly 1 year, old BIG girl, (with shepherd-y features), is a mixed breed dog weighing in at about 80 pounds. She has lived with one other dog in her life. We are unsure how she would do with cats. She is friendly to people of all ages! She is playful and energetic and would love one on one attention. She has primarily lived outside in a barn environment; her housing situation has changed to less than ideal.

We don't want "primarily lived outside so far" to scare you. We believe she can be the best dog and be part of the family. Speaking from experience, it takes a bit of routine and an XL crate, supervision, and a week of being consistent with positive reinforcement to work on potty training. I have found that the dogs who become inside are so grateful to be in the house and are so eager to please that potty training is a snap. It's also an ideal time to crate train because being in the house is brand new; crating becomes a new normal. In all the dogs, I have personally fostered through the years (some stayed forever) a handful were once exclusively outside dogs and have become the most solidly house trained ones of the bunch EVERY time. Molly is a quick learner as well.

Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. One application works for all of our dogs.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.
