My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MARIGOLD ~~ Cattle Dog/Shepherd Mix, Spayed Female, Rust/Red, 37 pounds, DOB: 12/16/2022

Do you love outdoor activities, playing games, hiking, camping, running -- being outside and living your best life? Do you love other dogs? So does Marigold! Maybe you can meet and be best friends!

Marigold has a heart as big as Georgia and a personality to match! She is very smart, has a social, outgoing and loving personality, and absolutely loves to play games and have a good time!

I AM LOOKING FOR: Marigold is in search of an active, energetic and fun-loving family, single person or couple to live with. She would benefit from a strong handler and continued training. Herding breeds love to have a purpose and Marigold is no exception. She has never met a stranger and seems to enjoy the company of other friendly dogs with similar personality traits. Daily exercise and mental stimulation are important for Marigold.

WHAT I NEED: Give Marigold a little time to adjust to her new home and may be able to come off the anxiety medication she is on while staying at our clinic. Once she is able to get more regular exercise and is comfortable in her new home, she may be able to be weaned off her medication.

OTHER PETS: DOGS: YES. CATS: NO
Marigold would love another non-aggressive and non-dominant doggie playmate, roughly the same size as she is. If you’re looking to add a pet to your home, come and meet this sweet girl. She may do best in a home without small children, as she tends to herd them to get them to notice her. Some little kids may be scared of this behavior. Bring your other pet to the meeting to ensure a smooth transition.

NOTE: Marigold will not do well in a home with cats and should not live with them. She is not mean, but will chase them.

LIKES: Giving hugs and kisses. A fenced backyard would be ideal for her and she might even enjoy learning about obstacle courses or playing Frisbee with you. Do you have a pool? This might be so much fun for her too ~~ and a great way to get some exercise.

ADOPTION FEE: $65. Her adoption fee includes a one month supply of Simparica Trio (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites). She's up to date on vet services, vaccines and is microchipped. We are offering ½ off all adoption fees for pets one year and older to welcome Spring!
