My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 2/2/2023).

Alaska is a lively white shepherd mix who is bursting with playful energy and a love for the great outdoors! This young pup is a nature enthusiast who is happiest when he's outside, soaking up the sights and sounds of the world around him.

Alaska is a social butterfly who adores romping around with his doggie friends, playing and running to his heart's content. He may have a little too much fun chasing after birds, bunnies, and cats – so a dog home is best.

This fun-loving pup is looking for a home with a doggie sibling and a doggie door leading to a 6 ft fenced yard where he can let loose and explore. If a yard isn't available, Alaska would thrive in a home where he can go out for walks and breaks throughout the day to satisfy his curiosity and exercise needs.

While Alaska loves getting pets and attention from his humans, he's also quite independent and can easily entertain himself with his own antics. With Alaska around, every day is a new adventure filled with laughter and joy. Get ready for some tail-wagging fun with this nature-loving pup by your side!

As part of Alaska’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Alaska, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home. http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. An adoption fee of $275 for dogs under 6 months $250 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
