My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The queen bee!

Hey guys! My name is Rayna, and I am a 1 year old, 45 lb, spayed Shepherd mix girl. I was born in TAP's care as Bubbles with my group of siblings and adopted. It unfortunately wasn't my furever for no fault of mine, so here I am now. I am a real dog and with needs and not doing good when my needs werent being met. But I am back at a foster home and thriving now and how! I am bathroom trained, and love my crate which is my lil apartment. I am working on leash manners now and I love going outside which I wasn't doing much before! Have a little patience with me as I get the hang of regular dog things that I was always meant to do, and I will surprise you with my amazing dogginess!

My foster mama has found out that I am an incredibly sweet doggo with so much love to offer! I am friendly, but need a few minutes to warm up to new people. My shyness dissipates quickly and my energies come out! I am a bouncy, happy creature, finally allowed to express myself and I am absolutely loving it! I love hiking, going on walks, and playing with other pups. I am enjoying physical and mental stimulation that I am getting and have shown that I am a smart learner. Keep teaching me, but with positive reinforcement and kindness in your heart. I get along well with other dogs, cats and kids. Just keep in mind that I am still an energetic pupper and learning to stay calm. I could be jumpy, and will need to learn that staying down gets me more love and treats!

To my actually real furever family, mental and physical stimulation is very important for a pupper and I am sure you know that. I deserve a family who will give me all the love and attention she is worthy of. I am adaptable and good with kids, cats, adults and dogs. I am quite active, and still growing and learning, so I will need someone who is available to take me on walks and do some basic training. Structure and routine will just make me more confident! I am already smart, so I pawmise this will all be a breeze. To learn more, follow me on IG @fosterpupbubbles.

My adoption fee is $450 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
