My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing our lively and energetic Spirit! She’s a 3 year old Cattle Dog/Beagle mix (guess), 35 lbs, and so sweet. This girl is a bundle of joy, always on the go, and ready for action. With an abundance of playfulness, she’s the perfect partner for games, fetch, and outdoor adventures. Once she gets all her energy out, she chills with her people on the couch!

Watch her prance around with that unmistakable spring in her step – she brings an extra dose of cheer wherever she goes. She even does her happy feet dance sometimes! An adventurer at heart, she thrives on exploring and discovering new horizons, making her an ideal companion for the outdoorsy types. She is like a prancing, running deer!

You'll be pleased to know that she’s both house and crate trained! What this girl craves most is your affection and attention. She’s a real people-pleaser, and those belly rubs and ear scratches are her absolute favorite! She doesn’t trust people right away and takes time to warm up, but once she does, she is extremely loyal, affectionate, and protective of her people when people come over.

She gets along well with kitty friends. She is dominant with other dogs and likes to show them she's boss, but she is completely fine with them after! We've only seen her around submissive dogs. Proper, slow introductions are important with her and other dogs. It is safe to say she may not do well with other dominant dogs. Spirit’s open heart and care-free personality are sure to brighten your days and fill your life with endless joy and excitement.

Adopter must have a fully fenced yard and an active lifestyle.

DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.

***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

More about this rescue

Pep's Pals Rescue is committed to rescuing shelter dogs and street dogs and finding them forever homes. All dogs deserve to live their lives showered with the love they deserve.
Pep's Pals is named after Pepper, a lab who gave so much love to the founder of Pep's Pals and her family. We carry on his legacy by loving and caring for the dogs who need to know what it is like to be a part of a family. Pepper was kind to every human and fur friend he met. We believe that's how Pepper would want us to carry out our mission.
