This helps Pep's Pals Rescue with pet care costs.
Lobo, a 3-year-old male shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds, is a well-behaved and crate-trained companion. We rescued him and his father, Oso, from a high kill shelter in Texas. He rarely barks and is potty trained, displaying good behavior both indoors and outdoors in his foster home. While he may bark outside with other dogs, he generally sleeps peacefully in his crate at night and travels well in the car. Lobo is selective with other dogs, preferring to be the only one in the home or potentially sharing space with a large breed female or his father Oso. Cats and small dogs are not suitable companions for him in a home. He would do fine in a home with teenagers who understand how to interact with a larger dog.
With a moderate activity level, Lobo enjoys walks of varying lengths but may not be the ideal hiking or running partner. A fenced yard is essential since he isn't trained to be off-leash. Lobo responds to basic commands like sit, stay (sometimes), come, heel (for leash walking), and off (for not jumping on people). After overcoming heartworms through comprehensive treatment, he is now in excellent health. His ideal forever home would be with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children, where he can be the sole recipient of attention and care. Wolf is ready for a loving home to cherish and support him throughout his life. Could that be you?
He is up to date on vaccinations, on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, microchipped, has been dewormed multiple times, heartworm negative, and is neutered.
FYI: The adoption fee covers transport & health certificate costs to adopters in the DMV/PA/other north east states. The dog is currently in Texas in a temporary foster home, but our transporters do runs every 2 weeks.
