Meet Dallas, a lovable chunky boy with a heart as big as his appetite for food. This sweet pooch knows cues like sit, down, leave it, go to crate, and calm. He's housebroken and crate trained, preferring a cozy setup with lots of blankets and a covered crate door left open.

Dallas enjoys puzzle toys and enrichment activities, but he's not a fan of ear touches or nail trims. He has a history of living harmoniously with two other dogs, although he may get a bit too excited and jump when meeting new furry friends. Due to his exuberant nature, Dallas is best suited for a home without kids or cats. While Dallas can be calm, he also has burst of energy that require an active household to keep up with him. He's seeking a loving family who can appreciate his sweet side while embracing his spirited personality.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
