My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I'm Unitas, one of Ember's adorable pups . Let me tell you, I'm quite the canine companion. Car rides? No sweat, I handle both short hops and long journeys like a champ . Nights are for snoozing peacefully in my crate, accident-free, might I add . And as for house training? Well, let's just say I'm mastering that art . I'm a quick study, you see!

But it's not just about obedience; I've got a heart full of love . I'm a social butterfly, wagging my tail at every dog and person I meet . Snuggling up and receiving belly rubs? Count me in! And when it comes to fun, I've got a few favorites. Whether it's people-watching at breweries, strolling on my leash, or engaging in a lively game of tug-of-war, I'm always up for a good time ‍.

More about this rescue

PIPs key focus is dogs with special or medical needs (who we call Pip-abled), however, we have many non-PIP-abled dogs too! We made it easy to decipher PIP-abled verses non-PIP-able; simply look at each dogs picture and bio.

The Pioneers had a vision to take in the most urgent rescues no one else could which includes puppies, adult dogs, senior dogs, dogs with special needs and medical cases in and around North Carolina. Our main purpose is to rescue as many dogs in need as we can with a special focus on special needs.
