My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Claude was brought in by his previous owner.

At SDHS:
Claude has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Claude, an adult dog with a loving and gentle demeanor. Do to his size and exuberance, we do not recommend that he be placed in a home with young kids (under 12). We also think Claude will be happiest as the only pet in the home. Claude enjoys the simple things in life; a cozy spot to nap, a gentle hand to pet him, and a calm voice to reassure him. Claude is a friendly giant! If you would like to meet Claude, bring a leash and collar and visit our Escondido Campus.

SPONSORED FEE
Great news! Claude had a secret admirer that has sponsored his adoption fee!

This means that the adoption fee has already been paid for by someone who wants to help this Claude find a cherished home.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
