My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet VENUS a beautiful, brown, Tabby with stunning green eyes and small tufts jutting off her ear tips.

Venus and her sister, Serena, were trapped on the campus of UCLA in May of 2021 - where they were born to a feral, Lynx Point Siamese.

They were living with a foster family who decided to keep them. Unfortunately, the single mom lost her job and they had to move in with family who had severe allergies. This is why they were returned.

VENUS
- Stone cold chiller; loves to veg
- Loves the window ledge
- Also loves closets/hiding
- Coyly affectionate - will meow and respond to pets, purr like crazy then run away
- Does not LOVE head pets/scratches but tolerates them; more of a body pets girl
- Likes belly rubs!
- Does love to play (with wand) tho sister often monopolizes so she gets discouraged
- Likes the foam ball/bouncing and chasing; also the small coils
- Likes the mouse, too
- Very food/treat-motivated
- Likes running water/bathtub
- Responds to “Veeny”
- Likes to dip into the water bowl and lick off her paws

Since Venus and Serena are such a bonded pair, we would like to keep the sisters together.

You'll find her complete rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #25 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties"... along with updates (including videos) on ALL our cats and kittens!

Venus's adoption will include her:
* Spay surgery,
* De-worming,
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Rabies vaccination,
* Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative),
* Flea and mite treatment (with Revolution),
* and Micro chipping!

~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~

* Please only contact us if you'll be making Venus a permanent member of your household and will be keeping her safe indoors.

** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair!

Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Once you see a cat/kitten who's peaked your interest and/or tugged on your heart, you can send an email inquiry through the website.

2.

Interview

Once you've returned the completed application (via email), we follow up with a phone interview: at which time we set up a meet-n-greet.

3.

Home Check

If it's the right match for you, your family, and the animal, we would then conduct a home check; for any escape or safety hazards.

4.

Meet the Pet

Typically, we'd conduct the home ck prior to the meet-n-greet. That way, you can take the cat/kitten(s) home with you!

Go meet their pets

All our adoptable pets are featured on Petfinder.com. I also create fun and entertaining videos on each animals, host them on YouTube and post ads on Craigslist; under the Pets section.

It's important to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying/neutering, fostering, and adopting. I also enjoy teaching others how to humanely trap stray and feral cats.

More about this rescue

We are a small, volunteer-based rescue located in the San Fernando Valley focusing, primarily, on cats and kittens. We rescue most of the animals through trapping in our local communities, or pulling from our City and County shelters. Our adoptable pets live with us in our home or in foster homes. Fosters are always needed. Please consider becoming one today?

You can find more photos, videos and updates on all our rescues by visiting us on Facebook at: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (which is a public page). Please feel free to browse through the many photo albums. I believe in transparency and rely on the support of volunteers, donors, and like-minded, rescuers. We also partner with other 501C3 Non profit rescues.

Additionally, we support and practice TNR (Trap, Nueter, Release) of community cats.

One person really CAN make a difference. Join us there and find out how you can help!
