My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Trudy: Your Lovable Companion**

Hello there, potential fur-ever family! My name is TRUDY, and I've recently found my way to the caring folks at Just Paws. I embarked on a challenging journey from the streets of Mexico, where I faced the hardships of abandonment, hunger, and the constant search for safety. Thankfully, a compassionate dog rescuer swooped in to save me, just as she does for many others like me.

While my exact lineage remains a mystery, it's believed I may be a delightful mix of Bernese/Swiss Mountain, shepherd, and border collie. But let's not get too caught up in the details – what matters most is the love and joy I'm ready to bring into your life! Do you think I'm pretty? Well, I've been told I have a beautiful spirit and a friendly attitude that charms everyone around me. I will be an amazing family dog if you give me the chance!

**About Me:**
I've been spending some quality time with my foster family, including a mom, dad, and two awesome teenage siblings who I adore already (and they love me too). The real cherry on top is my foster dog brother – we've become good friends, enjoying playful runs and bonding time together. I'm an energetic gal, so if you're seeking a lively companion for walks and play, look no further – I'm your girl! I just love going for long walks.

My foster family describes me as a love bug with a fantastic temperament. I've been a breeze to care for, sleeping through the night on my comfy dog bed. I'm not possessive about my food, and no signs of aggression have been observed. My foster family gave me a full bath, and I did very well – I quite enjoyed it!

**What I'm Looking For:**
At approximately two years old and weighing in at 67lbs, I may seem sizable, but don't let that fool you – I'm a gentle giant who adores people and other dogs. A forever home with a medium to large furry friend and a secure fenced yard for playtime would be ideal (but not a must for another dog if there are dogs I can socialize and play with but the fenced yard is a must). Exercising me will be needed, and I'm up for walks on the leash, showcasing my leash manners. I am also up for positive reinforcement training classes as I have been told it is a wonderful bonding time with my forever family. I would also like to mention I’m smart so I think I could be a star at classes!

My house training is good, too. It's important to note that I do shed, so if you have allergies or prefer a low-shedding companion, I might not be the best fit. But if you can overlook a bit of fur for a whole lot of love, I promise to make your heart swell with joy.

**In Summary:**
In the words of my foster mom, "Trudy is a joy to be around. She's always happy, loves her belly rubs, is friendly with people and dogs (but she needs her time to warm up to dogs she may not know), and good on the leash. She is great in the car! We can leave her alone, and she has no separation anxiety, nor does she get into mischief while gone. Trudy does not need a crate. She is just a great dog!”

I'm thriving in my foster home, and I can't wait to find my forever family. If you're ready for a loving and lively addition to your household, please apply for me today. Let's embark on this incredible journey together, and I'll shower you with the love and companionship you've been waiting for. 🐶❤️

I hope you like what you have read about me. If so, please apply for me. I can't wait to meet you!

As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca.
