Thor is a courtesy post for Valley Dogs Rescue and isn't in our direct care.
Thor is a great dog, extremely smart and obedient. I have had him since 3 months old, but have since gotten married and now have a kid on the way. He is well loved but with both me and my wife working full time and living in an apartment his life is lame and we are hoping there is someone out there who might be able to provide a better home for him. He is very healthy, he had a TPLO surgery on his back left knee and has recovered 100% (this was back in 2020). He would make a great hiking or camping buddy I used to take him out a lot back in the day. He is very good off-leash unless there is another dog close by, he is also very well-trained and will not chew anything he isn't supposed to.
He is very smart and knows what is his and what is not, can handle being home without supervision. He also has no issue with fireworks and loud sounds. He will bark if someone knocks at the door but other than that not a barker. When we have guests he usually gets very excited but is trained not to jump and we have a command for him to get a toy. We usually have him go get a toy then we pet and love on him when we come home. He has been very well socialized and has done great with other dogs in the past although it has been a couple of years since he has played with other dogs. He is a great family dog, very loyal, and loves when all his people are together. And he is also really great on leash, I have a heal command I say for when I want him to walk by my side and a scout command to let him lead and good sniff all he wants lol.
