My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger is a young American Bobtail female. She and her brother Bobby, who look like twins, are available for adoption. Bobby is affectionate and friendly. You will find his profile on this adoption page also. Ginger is flighty but does allow petting when she is in the mood. These 2 need a special home with a human willing to spend the time to get Ginger to come around. Ginger and Bobby share more than just looks—they share a bond that transcends mere siblinghood. If you’re that special someone who believes in second chances and has time to spare, contact us. Together, we can create a haven for these two souls. Please fill out the adoption form on our website: https://www.duetteanimalrescueteam.org/online-adoption-application. Priority is given to that application. The adoption fee is a donation to our rescue, and the amount is at your discretion. Manatee, Hillsborough, Sarasota, and Pinellas counties only. Thank you for caring.

More about this rescue

We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
