My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sergeant Celery! This sweet boy can be a little shy at first, but he is incredibly friendly and will quickly become your best friend. He spends most of his time snuggled up in his tunnel, munching on a mountain of hay, or romping around his enclosure playing with his favorite toys. He hasn't quite lived up to his namesake vegetable yet, as had never had any before coming into our care, but he is trying new bunny-friendly foods every day!

This sweet bun has lived with another bunny in the past, and would likely be able to again with lots of patience and a proper introduction.

With his love for gentle pets and knack for making you smile, Sergeant Celery will make a great addition to any family. This fluffy bundle of joy is waiting to hop into your heart and home!

If you're interested in meeting this handsome guy, please fill out an online application below and and send it shuswap@spca.bc.ca, or call us at 250-832-7376.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
