Rory is a beautiful, almost 16-year-old, patch tabby with white Maine Coon cat who was surrendered to HART this past winter. Confident, social, and affectionate, this majestic cat is simply a joy to spend time with! She’s a chatty gal, and she will carry on a nice conversation with you. Rory loves receiving attention, and she will snuggle up next to you, purring and nuzzling you with contentment. She may be a senior, but she is very playful, especially when it comes to her favorite toy, the laser light— when the volunteers at the shelter take out the laser light she runs over to be the first to get to play!
Rory has a few significant health issues that require regular monitoring, including a history of dental disease, GI issues, pancreatitis, and elevated liver values. She will require an adopter who has an established relationship with a veterinarian and who is experienced in caring for senior cats with medical needs and also has the ability to administer medication. Rory is currently sporting a lion cut shave due to her previously matted fur, but when her lovely, long coat grows back in, she will need frequent brushing and combing to keep her looking and feeling her best. Our Adoption Team will review Rory’s health history and specific needs with you prior to adoption.
Rory does ok with other cats, but she would much rather be the only feline in the household. She would be happiest in a calm home without young children or other animals, and with a family who will dote on her like the princess that she is. If you have a nice sunny window where she can take afternoon naps, that will be right up her alley!
To meet Rory, please fill out the online application. She is in Room 5 at the shelter and would love to have visitors. We know you’ll will fall in love with her like we have!
