Meet sweet Dash. He came from what we will only say was an "unfortunate" situation. He is 5 years old and visually impaired. We have checked him out and he is not in any pain but he is very, very scared in the shelter largely in part due to his lack of vision. He had never been on a leash and he does not like to go too far from the shelter. He is slowly starting to trust the volunteers he spends time with the most. It is amazing how well he is adjusting with the few people he trusts. He needs a very patient person or adopter, a quiet household that will give Dash the time he needs to feel safe without being rushed or pushed before he is ready to trust. We are working with him everyday and it has been a slow process. But we are making progress. This boy will steal your heart. How he made it for 5 years in a scary world without a human guardian to watch over and love him is just astonishing but yet so typical of the amazing ability of dogs to adapt and survive...Adopt from MCAS All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), microchipped, and current on all vaccinations.
We are open 7 days a week 12pm to 5pm for adoptions, no appointment necessary!
