My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I am Redd, but a lot of kids think I look like Simba. I was saved from a cat colony because I LOVE getting all the pets! Because I have lived outside my whole life, I need someone to be patient with me while I warm up and figure out my surroundings. But once I do, I will purr all day and won't want you to stop giving me all the love and affection. I am a very gentle boy, and do not even mind if you touch my cute little toe beans from time to time. Loud noises still scare me a little, and sometimes I will want to hide until I feel safe. I would probably do best in a home with no children or older children where the environment is a little more calm and quiet for me. I love chasing toys and rolling on my side so I can bunny kick my front paws. I eat hard food like a champ and have great litter box habits! Whoever adopts me will be the luckiest human. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
