My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Curry | approx. 6 years old | 49 lbs | Toronto area

Hi, I'm Curry. I absolutely love human companionship and am eagerly waiting for my forever person! It's been seven long months and I haven't received a single application. It's hard to know why since I'm such a loving dog, and while I'm a bit anxious, I'm working very hard to overcome my fears.

Here's a bit more about me:

I could live with another dog, and sometimes I like to play if the vibe is right, but I'd also be very happy to be the only dog. I have a cat buddy in my foster home and would be very happy to share a home with a cat.

I'm a pretty quiet guy and I've been working on building my confidence. To be honest, at times I struggle with new things and can feel a bit anxious in new situations. But I'm also a brave and adaptable boy: I have the ability to overcome my anxieties, and when I do I feel really proud of myself and remember the new behaviour forever. I really thrive on leadership, structure, and predictability. I'm looking for a family who can offer me this and help me to grow even more confident and courageous.

I'm working with a trainer and she has really helped me adjust to things I feel unsure about and manage new situations. I've made a ton of progress with her, and if you adopt me, you will have some free training support to help set us up for success!

A really cool thing about me is that I love agility work! I'm very good at mastering the equipment, and I feel so proud of my accomplishments. I get so excited that I squeal and can't stop wagging my tail. It would be amazing if you wanted to work on agility training with me and I think I could make you proud!

I'm looking for a quiet, adult-only home. I'll need you to be a bit patient with me as I settle in, and I would reciprocate with all my loyalty and love. I'm a very sweet boy, and I need someone to give me a chance to shine. I have spent too long in foster care without a family of my own. Please consider taking me home.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers trying to help local and international rescuers who desperately need help to rehome their dogs. It started as a fundraising effort to help them with vet costs and food so they could help more strays on the street. However, rescue is not complete without a forever home and they were overwhelmed with so many dogs and no homes to send them to. There are so many sweet, loving and friendly dogs and along with fundraising, we hope to find homes for their dogs so they can continue to help more.
