My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Anne was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on February 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Anne! This sweet girl may be a bit shy at first, but with patience, kindness, and a few tasty treats, she'll blossom into the affectionate companion you've been dreaming of! Anne is a delicate soul who appreciates a calm and peaceful environment. Once Anne warms up, she becomes a wiggly dog who enjoys long walks, sniffing, and lizard chasing! She will even ask for attention and petting from her favorite people! Anne has shown some reactivity towards other dogs, so she may be happiest as your one and only. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Anne, grab a leash and come on down to our Oceanside Campus today! With a little patience, Anne will thrive!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
