My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Schanana is a beautiful 3 year old long fur brown tabby with white girl with enchanting light green eyes that sparkle when she is content. Her gorgeous good looks have not gone to her head though, as she has a very sweet, unassuming and demure nature.

Schanana absolutely loves to be combed and brushed, which is a must with her long, fluffy fur. Her purr motor engages the moment the brushing begins and never stops as long as you give her love and attention. She also enjoys dinner time and will happily come to help you prepare her food, as she softly tells you that she is anxious to see what you have for her!

Schanana is a sensitive girl, so new people and unexpected or loud noises are scary for her. If frightened, she quickly retreats to her hidey box where she can keep a watchful eye on the situation. Once the coast is clear, and she is safe again with her trusted person, she will happily come out for more attention. She loves to sleep with her foster mom at night.

With her gentle and submissive personality, Schanana would be happiest in a stable, quiet home either as your one and only cat or with an equally submissive, low key cat who will respect her space. It will take some time for Schanana to rebuild her trust in a new situation with new people, but if you are patient and gentle with her, you will have the reward of a beautiful, well-mannered and loving companion for many years to come.

Schanana tested FIV+, but has been very healthy while in our care. With good nutrition, regular vet care and when kept strictly indoors, experience has shown that an FIV+ cat can live a long and healthy life. With Schanana's demure nature, there would never be a concern about transfer to another cat.

Adoption fee is a minimum $55 per cat donation to Feral Fixers. All cats are up to date on shots, microchipped, dewormed, fixed, and FeLV/FIV negative. More about this rescue

Feral Fixers is dedicated to the Trap, Neuter & Return (TNR) of feral cats within DuPage county. As part of our mission, we also rescue friendly cats and kittens that have been abandoned outside. We socialize and provide medical care to these kitties in our foster homes, and then make them available for adoption.
