MEET ALFIE #2!!

Alfie is a big goof who absolutely loves people! While he may bark at strangers outside the gates, he is definitely not a guard dog since he will love on anyone who will touch him. Alfie is a big boy and still has puppy energy, so jumping, zoomies and a near endless capacity for fetch is front and center. Although he is super friendly and loving, small children and older/frail people may not be the best for him since he will paw at people and will stand and put his paws on people.

Alfie was left behind when his owner needed to get some help for a health condition. He has only lived outside and in his own room. He needs a patient and strong person to help teach him all he needs in order to be the best dog. He is good with a doggy door and is crate trained. He is active and loves walks. He would probably love an active family that hikes, camps or just likes to get outside regularly. Alfie is a sweetheart--meet him today!

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
