My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Xander...Xander is about 4 years old and a very unique looking guy. We’re not sure of his genetic makeup-your guess is as good as ours (hopefully a DNA test is in his future). He’s 55 lbs. Xander is dearly loved by many. He wants nothing more than to spend time with his humans and his doggie friends. One of Xander’s greatest traits is his ability to be flexible with his doggie playmates. If it’s the rough and rowdy crew, he’s ready to rock! If it’s puppies that need ‘Uncle” Xander to rollick and teach, he’s that guy. If it’s an older dog that doesn’t want any of the rowdy stuff, he’s cool with that. Xander has been very good around most cats. He is a loving, sweet guy, but he is also a bit complicated. Once you get in the “Xander Club”, you’re IN. But it may take a little time and care for new people to make the cut. Xander’s new family will need to be instructed on the best way to introduce him to strangers. He came to us with a very high drive to chase cars. His previous adopter lived in an RV park. The car chasing behavior eventually also included bicycles and pretty much any wheeled vehicle or toy. Xander is very sensitive to younger children that run and play in a loud, boisterous way. That type of environment is frightening to him and he does not react well. Xander’s ideal home is with an experienced dog owner that will be open to meeting his needs. He will need to have a securely fenced yard that is not on a busy street. Older children that are quieter and are able to understand Xander’s issues would be fine. Other dogs and cats in the home would be ideal. Xander has SO MUCH love to give! Are you that special person that can meet his needs?
