Phillip entered Los Angeles Animal Services - Chesterfield Square as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on March 5th to become a Frosted Face. He is 13 years old, weighs 15 lbs., and feels like a new man after recently having a much-needed dental. He was neutered at the same time.
Phillip loves people and does well with cats! In our play yard, with about 20 other small dogs, he has unfortunately been a bit of a bully and does best in his own space. For that reason, we recommend that Phillip be the only dog in his forever home.
Phillip went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what he is like in a home. He earned rave reviews for being a well-behaved, cuddly, and fun companion! Here is the full report from his Fling Mom:
"As Phillip's fling comes to an end, here is what I have learned about this sweet, loyal boy:
* Phillip loves his people! He is so excited to see me everyday. He follows me from room to room and lays at my feet wherever I am. He loves to cuddle and gives kisses. It's clear that he will be a loyal companion.
* He has no separation anxiety.
* He walks and navigates stairs incredibly well. At only 15 pounds, he is also easy to carry.
* He is potty trained. No accidents or marking in the house have occurred.
* He is excited to go on multiple walks everyday and loves to meet people. He is an around the block walker rather than a 1-2 mile walker.
* He cannot hear very well, so he doesn't respond to my voice. I have found that he responds well when touched.
* He can see quite well and is very alert. He watches TV with me!
* He enjoys riding in the car and loves looking out the window. He also likes being picked up for loading into the car.
* He has barked very little during his time with me - the only time has been at his reflection in the mirror! This has been corrected easily and has lessened in frequency as he grows more comfortable.
* He tends to pace in unfamiliar areas, which is quite understandable in a new environment. He has become much more relaxed in my apartment as time has progressed. When this pacing occurred, my presence seemed to soothe him.
* Despite this initial pacing, he always slept peacefully through the night on the floor by my bed.
Phillip will be such a loyal companion to his new forever family. He will thrive in an environment where he can be around his people. He has so much love to give."

Phillip is ready for his forever home. Come meet him this Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 and 1:00 during our Open House!
