My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scrappy is another NYC ACC alumni, a gentle little soul with a heart of gold. He bonds quickly and tightly with a quiet, loving leader. Scrappy is a sable-colored, neutered, 13lbs Chihuahua and approximately 11 years young. He is housebroken and walks very well on a  leash. Scrappy has a heart murmur and horrific breath and is awaiting his dental appointment in January to be ready for lots of kisses with his new family. He is both cat and dog friendly, very well mannered  and rides nicely in a car. He is not your typical yappy little dog by any means, and is actually quite quiet in the house, without any destructive behaviors. Scrappy likes people but as he can be a little shy, introductions should be slow and at Scrappy's own pace. He sometimes can still be a little nervous but in only two weeks has gotten pretty comfortable in his foster home. He's a very happy, faithful and loyal little dog who wants nothing more than a loving forever home.

Scrappy is being fostered in Freehold, NJ

Additional adoption info

we want to make sure that the pet and new family are the right fit to avoid the animal being surrendered again or getting passed on. To ensure this we ask questions on lifestyle (if adopter is very active or not), how much they are home, what other animals are in the home/on the property etc. We want to both the animal as well as the adopter be set up for success which is that both sides are happy and their needs are met.
