My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WEIGHT: ~54lbs.

Meet Arrow- Arrow came to us from a partner shelter where he was picked up as a stray so it will be up to his new adoptive family to come up with an origin story for him. Arrow is a very sweet guy, but he doesn't seem to have much experience doing ‘dog things'. He is sensitive to sudden movements and loud noises, and it is clear that a lot of what he is experiencing here at the shelter and out in the world is very new to him. That being said, Arrow has been super brave since coming to us and is already gaining confidence and warming up to his new human friends. Arrow has met other dogs here, and to be honest, he's got mixed feelings about it. Shelter staff is open to a home with another dog, providing the two prove to be truly a good match after intentional introduction and with a good management plan in place; but a home without other dogs may be best for him at this point in his life. Think you might be this Dobey-boy's forever person? Call our adoptions desk or feel free to stop by the shelter during Browsing Hours: Wed-Sun 11-5.

In response to COVID-19, and the current social distancing rules, all of our animals are now being housed in foster homes and our adoption procedures have changed. Please read the following ADOPTION STEPS on our website for further details!

**Please Note: Most of our adoptions are beginning with a foster-to-adopt period, and because of this, we are temporarily unable to consider applications from households outside the counties of: Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Monterey.

If you rent, please have a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord that states you can have a pet(s) ready.

If you’re adopting a dog, introduce your future friend to any other dogs in the family (dog adoptions only).
