Hello, I’m Izzy! I’m a ten-year-old, five-pound, shorthaired female chihuahua, fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. I’m a sweet, shy little lady who needs a patient, loving human to help me learn to trust. My best friend Fiona and I travel together, so my new family will need to have room for two!
I am quite timid and fearful of new people and new surroundings, but I’ve made great progress in my foster home. My new human will need to be willing to give me gentle care and training. They will also need to be aware of a couple of medical issues. I’m missing most of my teeth, although the ones I have left are freshly cleaned. The vet also says I have a grade 4 heart murmur, but it doesn’t prevent me from living a happy life!
One of my favorite times is mealtime: I like to dance and twirl when I know food is coming! My friend Fiona and I love to cuddle and nap together. Like most gal pals, we groom each other to keep looking our best.
It takes a big heart to welcome two dogs in need. Does yours have room for Fiona and me? We may be small, but we have plenty of love to give!
Izzy’s adoption fee is $250. If you want to adopt Izzy, please DO NOT SEND A MESSAGE TO OUR RESCUE GROUP. We are too busy placing dogs in great homes to answer messages and inquiries through the listing site.

CRT does not warehouse dogs in a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!
CRT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public charity. We have no paid employees. We are dedicated to rescue, adoption and the medical care of stray and homeless Chihuahuas in need, and to help control the growing overpopulation through spaying and neutering all dogs in our care.
