Rocky is the most popular boy dog name in the US, and this is the most awesome little guy you will ever meet! You want a fun guy to go on walks? Check. A companion to snuggle on the couch? Check. Do you need a friend for another friendly pet? Check. How about level 10 off the chart adorable? Check. Not a big shedder? Check. Gets along with cats? Check. Loves to go on walks? Check!!!!
Rocky will also do the following: Bark at squirrels, other dogs, leaves falling from trees. He will go to the door to let you know he needs out. He will run between your legs to get out the door, so you have to be mindful of that to keep him safe, He is FAST. He will play until he drops, but when he's tired he is a stage "10" clinger. He is a total velcro dog that loves his people.
What we hope to see for Rocky's future is a family that will give him plenty of play time, and make him a beloved family member. Rocky can participate in family activities with the provisions made for his safety and security. He is a curious doggy and he will run if not leashed or secured.
Rocky is set to get a dental cleaning and all vaccines heartworm test and microchip are updated. He is going to require regular grooming, so that expense needs to be considered. Rocky will be a great pet for an active home that can spend time with him, He isn't a fan of alone time, He will kennel but its not his favorite thing. We don't know his breed mix, but he looks like past maltese poodle mixes we have had in rescue. Without doing a DNA test we won't know for sure.
Please give Rocky a look, and with your application we can set up a meet up!
Rocky is about 3 years old and weighs 14# , His adoption fee is $425.

Additional adoption info
**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.

More about this rescue
Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.
